NSW:Heat wave sets new record
Sydneysiders and people across much of New South Wales have tried to escape today's
extreme heat in every way they could .. some by staying inside .. others by escaping to
the coast.
Temperatures in dozens of Sydney suburbs soared above 40 degrees .. breaking a 150-year-old
record.
The weather bureau says it was the sixth straight day that the Sydney area experienced
30-plus degrees.
Temperatures also hit the high 30s and low 40s in the Hunter Valley and …
