Fed: Democrats want more changes to Medicare package
CANBERRA, Jan 19 AAP - The Australian Democrats today said they would demand more changes
to the federal government's Medicare Plus package.
A Senate committee will today hold hearings on the package, which the government hopes
will win the support of parliament.
From February 1, as part of the Medicare Plus package, doctors will be paid an extra
$5 rebate for bulk-billing concession card holders and children under 15.
But the Senate will be able to overturn the $5 payment when it sits again in February
